DH #58</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BfCnl8J9IvQ">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BfCnl8J9IvQ</a></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They started out on Level 4. They
traveled through the rooms and they saw that many of the rooms were
recently emptied of monsters… it felt empty and that somehow was
worse. Francis the Frail returned to the group and reported the
death of Martriss the Elf that was killed by the spreading Death
Effect around the ruined town of Nahm. He also saw Gronn the
one-eyed Giant/Ogre thing had survived and was possibly the cause of
the death and destruction there. He had followed Francis to Darves
Hill as well.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
Kergil the Dark Dwarf looted all of
Goddess’ potions from her temple. Two other Dark Dwarves decided
to stay on with Blevins the Halfling as his retainers. The rest of
the the Dark Dwarves fled to the mountains to the North.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The first stairway they came to on the
4th level was covered in the skin of human slaves. This
skin was actually the faces of the dead. As they stepped down them
the faces muttered words and curses. On the middle of the stairwell
one of the faces cast Sleep on them, and most of them tumbled down
the stairs asleep.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
Below the stairwell they found a room
that was covered in silver discs that were nailed in the center.
Kergil interrogated one of the faces and it said that the Sleegos
made them, and that they shouldn’t touch them. Abraham touched the
walls, and almost was petrified. The coins jingled and the sound
passed down the hallway and into the distance. They assumed that
this was a warning to those further in the dungeon.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The group decided to run down the
hallway, but they found no one there waiting for them. They came to
an area with massive hallways that were tall and wide who’s edges
were not even visible. They saw evidence of more fighting, and
assumed that the Withered Legion was here as well. Their skeleton
foot prints were there in the dust.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The eerie silence of the dungeon began
to disturb the members of Grunka’s Company. They then thought they
heard the sound of small wings. Stinky the Quasit Demon returned…
but it would not land on Cyr’s shoulders because of the girls
possessing him and Targ.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The group started to feel waves of
strange heat from the Hellfire pits that were starting to erode away
the layers of the dungeon. As they would go further down they would
find more and more of the lower levels being destroyed in this same
fashion, as if Hell itself was encroaching up to the mortal world
slowly but surely. They found a hole drilled down to the next level.
In the process of lowering themselves down one of the Dark Dwarves
fell and managed to survive the fall. Abraham died from the fall…
but then his healing amulet popped and cured him of the damage
instantly, though he was still very sore.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The Hellfire pits felt worse and just
wrong on the lower levels. They felt like they were slowly being
corrupted or perhaps getting sick when they were near to the edge of
them. They came upon a disgusting corrupt green underground river
and they felt that this river also went down to lower levels. They
decided wisely to avoid the putrid river to find another stair down
to the next lower level.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They went out of the way to investigate
one of the side passages and they found hundreds of human slaves that
were horrible slaughtered. Kergil cast Animate Dead and animated 6
skeletons to aid him and carry him like an Emperor.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
An Otyugh was blocking and guarding the
stairway down, and after a fireball and the onslaught of attacking
skeletons the creature was no more. It took some effort to get
around the burning carcass of the creature and then headed down to
the next level. The group thought they heard The Withered Legion.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
Two Wyverns attacked Percival since the
rest of the group fled at the sound of the pit. Percival cast
Pyrotechnics on Hellfire and horribly wounded the Wyverns. Percival
died in the process. Another Otyugh was blocking the next stairwell
down. Abraham died in the smoke inhalation from Francis’ Fireball
spell killed the creature.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The group found some ancient Dwarven
wrighting that he couldn’t read. Then they found a silver axe of
Haste. They then heard the sounf of dying Wyverns. They heard
cursing in Giant. They then heard bones breaking. They thought it
might have been a Minotaur or Gronn.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
Gronn the one-eyed giant/ogre was
running towards the group and hit Cyr’s Protection from Evil spell
that prevented the demon possessing him from crossing it. As he fell
4 of his “God Rocks” rolled out from his bag and this seemed to
change Gronn’s personality. Kergil stabbed him in the eye twice
blinding him. Francis cast a web spell, and Targ read Gronn’s
mind. Targ learned that Gronn had the Demon trapped within him but
the God Rocks had broken the Demon’s hold on Gronn.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
One of the Dwarves grabbed the Black
Death sword and he was disintegrated. Black Death was then grabbed
by Blevins and used like a lance and used to attack the Otyugh which
eventually died.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
Perfect gold filigree was everywhere
and looked like it was made by Demons. Hellfire pits were
everywhere. Onyx tiles laid out the ancient symbol of the two primal
Gods Mar and Umar. The symbol was holy and the girl’s possessing
Targ and Cyr told them that the symbol was keeping Lekorh on this
level.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
Francis then tried to make a deal with
a Demon to kill Lekorh… but his fellow adventurers killed him and
threw his body into the Hellfire pits. The Demons said they would
not intervene in the future battle.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
DH #59 (Last YouTube Video, End of the
Last Session)</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=codjQtMCdc8&feature=watch_response">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=codjQtMCdc8&feature=watch_response </a></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The group saw a strange pathway of red
stones lead off into the Hellfire pits where the girls possessing
Targ and Cyr told them to go to find Lekorh's throne room. Lekorh's
throne room seemed to be straddling two planes of existence. There
was a large archway leading into Lekorh's palace. Two Withered
Legion guards were standing on either side of this archway. They
were holding long poleaxes that had a black hawk motive with sharp
wings. A gray tunnel appeared and lead off into the misty distance.
The tunnel was approximately 1 mile long.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
At the end of the gray tunnel they
entered a large pillared room and in the distance they saw some
strange glowing angelic light. The group got an idea that this
beautiful room was Lekorh's prison.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
In the throne room they saw Xernatha
the Necromancer, a horribly mutated Old Manx, a beautiful dancer, a
small metallic automaton, a Slavemaster, and finally Lekorh dressed
in white glowing robes that also seemed like part of his prison. The
group approached and the figures were strangely silent.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
There seemed to be a strange spell in
the room that made it hard to reveal the truths of Lekorh and the
throne room. One of the possessing girl spirits told Cyr that there
was a depression under Lekorh's throne where the two broken pieces of
Cyr's coin artifact needed to go.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
Xernatha the Necromancer began to cast
but a Fireball spell went off in the throne room that wounded many of
the things in there. El Rashid tried to run up to throw Lekorh off
of his throne, but he hit an invisible wall of force and was hurled
to the ground. Targ used his Frostbrand sword at Lekorh... and
missed. Lekorh was covered with small shards of frost and ice.
Blevins charged Xernatha the Necromancer with the sword Black Death
(held like a lance) and he killed the twisted magic-user without him
being able to get a single spell off. The Dark Dwarves attacked the
Automaton, and he proved easy to hit but hard to damage. Stinky
appeared on the Dancer's face and stung her right in the chest with
his stinger. The group wasn't sure why he chose to attack... her.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
Lekorh cast Power Word Kill on Cyr, but
instead of Cyr dying... the girl possessing him took his place in
death and Cyr didn't die. The Dancer grabbed Stinky by the tail and
smashed his face against the corner of one of the platforms. The
Autamoton tried to leave but the Dark Dwarves kept attacking him.
The Slavemaster stabbed one of the Dark Dwarves in the chest with a
poison sword and he died.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The Dancer was swinging Sticky around
by the tail and she hit El Rashid with him. Old Manx poured out of
the barrel and flopped onto the floor. Old Manx told them to kill
the girl. A giant crushing hand enveloped Cyr. The Gereral of the
Withered Legion then appeared. El Rashid then attacked the
Slavemaster but missed. Blevins rammed Black Death into the guts of
the Dancer. Targ slashed at Lekorh and hit. Blevins noticed that
the Dancer was “bleeding” black dust. She pulled out the sword
and hit Blevins in the chest with it. The remaining Dark Dwarf kept
hitting the fleeing Automaton. El Rahid dispelled the Crushing Hand
and Lekorh's Protection Sphere spells.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
El Rashid cut the top half of the
Dancer off and it spun and flopped on the ground. Lekorh then
screamed horribly. Lekorh's bones fell out of the cloak and he
ceased to be and a horribly disgusting frog-like demon side-stepped
out of him. The girls assumed that a more powerful Demon would have
been in him. Cyr and Targ connected the coins and pressed the
artifact into the Demon which hurled it back against the wall.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The General of the Withered Legion
hurled himself into the battle and attacked Kergil the Dark Dwarf
Cleric. The screaming hawk weapon made Kergil fill ill even when it
missed. The Hezrou Demon lunged across the room and slammed into El
Rashid. Targ and Cyr threw the throne over and put the coin artifact
into the depression in the floor.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
Targ was covered in holy light and
blasted the Demon with a mighty blow of his weapon. Cyr attacked
and killed the Hezrou and it shattered into a thousand ice crystals
which then melted on the Helfire warmed floor. The General, the
Slavemaster, and the Automaton were the only targets left standing.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
El Rashid was disintergrated by the
General's Black Hawk Pole-axe. The Automaton was fleeing and
screaming, “Darves Hill is going to collapse!” The Slavemaster
pulled out a dagger and jabbed it in Blevin's throat, but the tough
little Halfling survived the wound. The General then horrible missed
Cyr.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The ground started to crumble around
everyone and Hellfire light was starting to bathe the room in reddish
light. Darves Hill was crumbling around them. Kergil fell down
through the cracks in the floor and died in Hellfire. Blevins with
Kergil's curse on his forehead but he managed to save vs. death and
lived.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
One of the Dark Dwarves, Blevins the
Halfling, Cyr, and Targ all made it out of Darves Hill before it
collapsed in a violent display of hellish fury. Blood, bodies,
Hellfire, and chunks of buildings flew into the air and then only a
very small hill was left where Darves Hill once was.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The group then headed back to the town
of Nahm to see what had happened there. Gronn the now blind Giant
was rolling the 4 God Rocks toward the center of town, and that
seemed to be slowly removing the Death Circle that was emanating from
the center of the ruined town.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The last remaining members of Grunka's
Company helped Gronn and then they left to go kill the Goblins that
had previously committed genocide vs. the Elves.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">

the primal two gods that are no longer worshipped.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The coin had proved to be a holy artifact that was also a bane
vs. Demons.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Cyr and Targ then explained
that they were possessed by little girl souls.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">

<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
Vloxaxis was the name of the Dragon.
Joshua remembered it in his dreams. Kergil the Dark Dwarf cursed
Tris because he was bad mouthing his people. They stumbled upon a
wide hallway where Dark Elves and Dark Dwarves were battling against
each other. The Dark Elves had the upper hand, but Grunka's Company
lead them to a grisly end. Stinky added to the chaos and death by
ripping out the eye of one of the Dark Elves. The group looted off
of them some poisoned weapons, and leather and studded leather armor
that cast Cure Serious Wounds once per day.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They found hyenas on short chains that
they guessed travel with the Dark Elves on patrols. Joshua was able
to cast Speak With Animals and talked to the Hyenas. Joshua turned
them, and they started serving the group instead.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
In the next room they found 10
blackened iron cauldrons where Dark Elves were bathing in strange
liquids. They unleashed the hyenas in the room, but the cauldrons
were too high for the hyenas to attack them. Underneath the
cauldrons were small black spheres that were generating heat. They
dumped out one of the cauldrons and a naked Dark Elf spilled out...
to be chewed apart by the hyenas. Another cauldron was spilled out,
and then the spells started flying at the party. They were able to
interrupt the spells of many of the bathing Dark Elves, and Joshua
cast Silence on a bunch of them. In the end they stood over the
corpses of all of them, and got a few poisoned scimitars out of the
piles of clothing at the base of the cauldrons. The clothing was
very fancy, and they found a good amount of coinage. They also found
10 sets of Elven Boots (100% Move Silently).
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
A bunch of the cannibals came up from
behind them, and they seemed to be immune to the Sleep spells that
they cast on them. They managed to kill the ones that came into the
room, and closed the door before more came in. They piled up a bunch
of Dark Elf corpses in front of a trapped door, and a Dark Dwarf then
let them into another room. Joshua cast Putrefy Food on the corpses
to hopefully poison the corpses. The cannibals came pouring in to
feast on Dark Elf flesh and the trap killed them all. Silus the
sickly fell in combat...</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
55</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The Dark Dwarf guard told them about
some of the stuff going on in the dungeon. They learned that Kornas
(the younger Minotaur brother) was probably located nearby.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They encountered a Dark Elf creepy guy
wearing stained brown robes standing in a pool of ichor. He had some
powerful abilities that didn't seem to be spells. He was able to
turn into sludge, and turn into a brown mist that could control those
that walked through it (and failed their save). In the end Sinjen
through a torch on the Dark Elf's robes and burned them. This seemed
to kill the creature. The mist animated some of the Dark Elf
corpses. They fought 3 more Dark Elves with crossbows, and then
looted the chest in a nearby room. They found a bejeweled floating
spellbook with some powerful spells in it and lots of coins.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They healed up and rested, and then
went to the frontier of the next Dark Elf area. There they found
what they assumed was a dead Purple Wyrm that was in a long hallway
with it's mouth spiked open. The digestive juices inside the Wyrm
ate through the boots they were wearing. They spiked the mouth shut,
and squirmed over the back of the creature and had just enough room
to crawl. When they crawled they heard digestive juices spraying
inside of the belly of the creature. They heard someone screaming
inside that was speaking Elvish, and then a blade stuck out of the
back of the Purple Wyrm at the crawling adventurers. They moved
around more and they believed that the digestive juices were killing
those Dark Elves inside.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They got to the other end of the Purple
Wyrm and it's anus was spiked open. It had a poison tail but it was
very weak. They saw a Dark Elf with a guard by it. Thimple killed
it under the cover of a Silence spell that Joshua cast.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
Twelve human slaves holding slaves, a
giant hawk with its wings severed off were being prodded along with
two Dark Elves that were holding wands. Abraham let them all pile
into the Purple Wyrm, but the wingless Hawk turned around and was
standing guard. The slaves and 2 Dark Elves died horrible deaths
inside the belly of the Purple Wyrm. A lightning bolt was cast
inside before they died and blasted into Blevins.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They attacked the wingless hawk next
and it seemed to have acid for blood and a nasty serrated beak. It
didn't last long, and crumpled over bleeding acid everywhere.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
There was a room with a hidden lever.
Inside a spinning mess of traps was protecting floating gems with
spellcasters caught inside them. There was an emerald, a ruby, a
diamond, and an opal. COLLECT THEM ALL! ;)</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
In another room they found an animated
crystal statue with four arms and wielding poison short-swords. It
seemed like it was guarding a doorway to another room.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They retreated to a safe room and then
held up for the night.

<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
Tom: Mescillius (fighter) & Metham
(cleric of Aemano). John: Blevin (halfling) & Percival
(magic-user). Damon: Tristan (elf) & Francis “the frail”
(cleric). Chris: Singen (magic-user) & Padre (cleric). Luke:
El-Rashid (fighter) & Silus “the sickly” (cleric of Fornast).
Jeff: Thimple (halfling) & Joshua (cleric of AeBalt).
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
Singen & Padre showed up (having
heard of the groups infamy and they signed up to help explore the
Hill with our group of misfits. The group was relaxing in town and
did some drinking. Gronn told them that he “blesses the God-Rocks”
every day. He does seem to have low-level cleric spells. The group
took some of the Withered Legion's armor, and picked through the
weapons. Then they headed back to the Hill from town.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
When the group arrived at the bottom of
the Hill, the Green Dragon looked down at them. The dragon smashed
the side of the temple that it was wrapped around. It bellowed
“TRIBUTE! GEMS! GOLD!” Joshua gathered up about 1,200 gold
pieces and held it out in front of him. He was shaking like a leaf,
and he couldn't remember the Dragon's name. Some of the other
characters went up with Joshua. The dragon blessed the small group
of characters that came up with him. The dragon wasn't sure why
Joshua looked so familiar. It seemed to not remember fighting the
Withered Legion.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The group descended into the lower
levels. In a nearby room they heard the sound of weapons clashing.
They found clumps of bloody fur, and blood trails where they assumed
the bodies were dragged. They followed them. In a room there were
mud tubes on the walls, ceiling, and floors. They reminded them of
termite mud tubes, if the termites were dog sized. The group heard
various buzzing noises in the tunnels. The group had a difficult
time getting across the room, and some of the characters fell into
the tubes angering the insects within.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They saw a dark dwarf that asked him
who they served, and they didn't give a good answer. He rang a bell
and then they killed him. He cursed in the name of Murgulta the
Blood Moon Goddess. They entered a very large room with a meteor of
iron with an alter on the side of it. There were 7 dark dwarves in
the room. On the altar there was a beautiful humanoid woman of an
unknown race.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
Metham cast Hold Person and four of the
Dwarves froze in place. The high priest unleashed a ray of black
energy that turned into and through Thimple. Blevins went and
attempted to destroy the woman on the alter and smashed her knee.
Francis put three more of the asleep. The priest turned out to be
Undead. Francis was lucky to have his amulet when another
necromantic blast of rats flew through his soul. Metham with his
Death to Death warhammer smashed into the high priest but it didn't
put him to a second death. Whoever damaged the high-priest was
cursed by him, and a unholy (holy) symbol of Murgulta was burned upon
their foreheads when he died</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The woman had a strange alien beauty to
her. She was strangely perfect. They found her breathing shallowly
in a deep sleep. She didn't detect as evil, and they healed her
smashed knee. Joshua picked up the naked woman and carried her out
of the room.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They then talked to one of the dark
dwarves that was asleep after they woke up up from the magical sleep.
“If you kill me, those with the mark of Murgulta will follow me
down into death. I'll take them with me.” Metham thought that the
curse mark on their foreheads would make it very easy for a cleric of
Murgulta to use spells on them.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
53</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They kept talking to the captured
Dwarf. He said that he now served the brother Borgius, since he had
the better claim to the Minotaur's throne. He told them about the
different brothers fighting each other for the throne. He told them
that the group has lit the hornet's nest on fire and started a civil
war. He asked them about the cannibals, and he was shocked to learn
that the group unleashed the cannibals into the room.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
Francis attempted to kill the woman,
and Joshua cast Hold Person on him. Joshua was NOT happy with him.
Metham came out to find out what was happening and put a stop to the
confrontation.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The Dwarf told them Mardus was the
eldest and ruling Minotaur until the group slayed him. Borgius (the
next oldest brother) is fighting against his younger brother Kornas.
The various factions are lining up behind one or the other Minotaur.
He told them that the Dwarves were hired by Borgius, though they
haven't fully decided to officially support one or the other brother.
El-Rashide was an eloquent spokesperson to try to use one side
againt the other.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The group told them that they might
offer them more than Borgius would. This was very interesting to the
Dwarf. He told them that some of their number had fallen in the war,
but also that the cannibal hordes had taken a toll. The Dwarf tod
them they wanted to use the woman's healing properties for their
side. They are getting hired by Borgius for 50 silver each per
month. The group discussed moving the Dark Dwarves to Nahm, to help
populate the town, be soldiers in the militia, and to run the local
temple, or to at least help with the running of it.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
Those in the party that were injured
were completely healed. Characters that were horribly wounded
suddenly became healed. Mescillius' eye grew back, Thimple's dead
patch of skin on his face healed. Her powerful healing abilities
were very evident.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
Singen handed out a torn piece of cloth
so that those with Murgulta's Curse mark on their foreheads could
hide them. Some of the characters refused and considered it a battle
scar to keep.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The Dwarf's name was Kergil (cleric of
Murgulta). The offer was to give them 6 gold each for serving them.
He set up a time and place to meet them. They told them to meet them
in the room above the burrower insects. He told them when they land
on your face that they breed, so they wanted to avoid those insects.
The Dwarf wanted the girl back, but they did not give into this
demand. He told them that the plan was to have the girl heal their
soldiers faster than the other side. He told them that he would try
to convince the Dark Dwarf leader to meet them. When they let the
Dwarf go he showed them a trick to put the buzzing mud tube insects
asleep. They let him keep the amulet off of the old high priest. He
just got a promotion, so he wasn't too upset by it all.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
Joshua carried the woman out of the
dungeon, with the rest of the group in tow. He then walked up
towards the Green Dragon on the surface. The Dragon looked surprise
to see Joshua again. “You gave tribute, why are you here?” The
woman healed the injuries, the growth, and his scales grew back where
they were missing. After one hour it seemed like it was completely
healed. The Dragon told him that, “They no longer needed to give
him tribute. The Hill is yours, the Temple is mine.”</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The woman was muttering something under
her breath. Blevins thought that she was saying something in some
Divine tongue, perhaps some sort of Song of Creation. They were
trying to figure out which god or goddess had a domain of healing.
When Joshua started praying to the statue of MurGwala (the Green
Moon) in the Temple in the town of Namh, the statue... changed to
look just like the healing woman. They guessed that the woman might
possibly be the goddess of the green moon.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They did some research on the solar and
lunar eclipses, and the books in the Temple said that during such
times that the gods were closer to the mortal material plane.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They brought Gronn in and told him to
see and then guard the goddess. During the night, those that slept
in the Temple had very violent dreams about nature, and the animals
in nature.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The next day the lunar and solar
eclipse seems like it is starting to go away. The moons will go out
of alignment in this order: Blood (MurGulta), Green (MurGwala), and
then White (MurAlta). Plants started growing in the temple around
the goddess, and worshipers from the town have come to revere and
pray to the goddess. The donations to the Temple increased
dramatically with the goddess there.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The group headed back to try to meet up
with the Dark Dwarves. They talked with the leader of the Dark
Dwarves. They told the leader that they could still work for Borgius
but that they REALLY would be working for them. They told them that
they got along with the Dark Elves, but they wouldn't mind if they
could be... eliminated. They gave them a map explaining what areas
they had control over. They told them that some Sleegos were aiding
their side. Half of the pink ones sided with Borgius, and the other
half support Kornas.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
Kergil pulled out a Murgulta Blood
Dagger. The leader cut his hand with it, and then held it out. He
then grasped El-Rashid's hand. He told them that there were 50 in
total, and that not all of them could be here. They paid them for 20
for the full month, and promised to pay the rest of them. Metham
paid for the rest of the month for the Dwarves.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They promised to give them refuge in
the Dark Dwarf territories. They were also given a message to
perhaps allow them to pass by The Withered Legion without being
harmed. Of course since Lekorh knows about them... this might not
work.</div>

<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
March (50-51)</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
On the last day of the group's vacation
they did some shopping, and one of the Clerics made scrolls during
the 3 weeks off. They decided to head off towards Darves Hill once
all the preparations were made.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
When they arrived in the evening at
Darves Hill, they saw a gigantic boil on the green dragon's back.
They headed down into the depths to the dungeon. Cyr failed to
disable a trap but luckily it failed to work. In the next room some
etherial eyes were looking down at them from the ceiling. The group
found 2,000 silver pieces in a small chest buried in the back corner
of the room once the Cleric turned the Shadows. They also found a
ring that said, “To my celia.” It made the wearer much more
lucky (Saves were all two better).
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
In the next room the door opens, and
there was a Shadow there, and it bowed to the group. “Are we free
to leave? We were bound to serve, but you have a thing that has
semi-released us. That was our wedding ring.” They were released
by the power of AeBalt. “Is there a final question before we
leave?” They asked what the meaning of life was, and the Shadows
said, “Lekorh (the Lich) rules us all, here and later.” As a GM
I was shocked that they didn't ask anymore questions, and that they
so quickly released them to the afterlife. Hehe.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
While they were thinking on what
questions they could have asked, they heard some Gnolls speaking, and
they were talking to another person or thing. “Where's the
Minotaur lately, his brother has been making a presence lately in his
absence...” They heard a knock on the door. “In the name of the
Horns, who are you?” They gave a flippant answer. “Slego cast.”
The mages thought clairvoyance was cast, and they were looking
through one of the character's eyes. Then they heard them walking
away from them.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The group then heard the sounds of what
they assumed was marching skeletons. They could hear their bones
hitting the hard stone floors coming in their direction. They heard,
“Company halt! Slego cast!” They thought he cast the Massmorph
spell which is an illusionary spell. The walls, doors, basically
everything in a 240' radius turned into what looked like a forest.
Those that cast the spell were nowhere to be seen.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They found 4 Gnolls stabbed to death in
a nearby room. Each body was stabbed 20 or 30 times. The ceiling
was cracked, water was flowing through it, and it seemed pretty
dangerous. They found a natural spring. The ceiling collapses and
half a ton of rocks fell down on top of everyone's head. Those that
avoided the falling ceiling were able to dig out the rest of the
party members. The hallway back was completely buried so they had to
go forward.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They found a teleporting circle but
they didn't know where it would end up. One of the new guys Francis
(the Frail) decided to volunteer to test it out. He teleported...
somewhere. He found himself in a room with tapestries on the walls
that had arcane symbols on them. He was completely alone, and he was
standing on top of another teleport circle. There was a strange
cinnamon-like smell in the air. They were various colors and each
one had a different symbol on it. Francis heard more of that Slego
chanting again. Francis grabbed one and then teleported back up.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They think that Stinky was telling them
that the Slego's sometimes use sacrifice victims to help cast their
spells, or perhaps for worship of their strange gods.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They overheard two Gnolls talking about
what side they were going to support. They heard some names
mentioned, and talk about a brother. They were guessing that some
sort of power struggle is going on with the power vaccum. Mardus
they think was the name of the Minotaur that they killed. Kornas &
Borgius are two other names that seem like they have some power in
the dungeon. They grabbed the tapestries and teleported back up to
the surface.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They started to hear a strange humming
noise coming from the tapestries. They think that the tapestries
each have a different note. Cyr thought about the strange giants
that used sounds during their magic chants to summon the dragon.
When they separated them their notes reduced in sound, and then when
they put them together they were louder. They unrolled them and then
stacked them on top of each other. They seemed to interact with each
other in some strange way. The tapestries seemed to have a calming
affect on everyone.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They noticed the 3 moons in the sky
(the red, the green, and the white) were all close to one another.
They guessed that in a couple of days all three moons would be on top
of one another for a rare lunar eclipse. They slept on Darves Hill
for the night.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The whole group teleported down to the
room with the tapestries and six slimy pink humanoids with sagging
skin and tusks coming out of their faces were waiting for them.
These were said to be the Sleegos. Two of the characters were frozen
in place by the Sleegos' spell. They cast Sleep and many of the
Sleegos fell over. The creatures smelled like very strong cinnamon.
They tied two of them up and killed the rest of them.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
When they woke up the two Sleegos they
turned towards each other and seemed to be communicating. Sleegos
have unsettling red eyes. They then heard bone feet marching in this
direction. They had robes that were the same color with the same
symbol as the tapestries.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The group was talking about what to do,
when a skeleton opened up the door, and two other skeletons rolled a
barrel with a lit wick into the room. The skeletons were armored,
they had a shield, crossbows, short swords, and helmets. They seemed
really intelligent, and there were 20 of them standing in formation.
The barrel erupted into flames, and the group was thankful for the
healing amulet. They put themselves out after they teleported
upstairs.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
DH51
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They noted that many of the skeletons
had amulets on (black spere). Then after a few moments the skeletons
started teleporting after them. The skeleton's short sword had a
Minotaur's face on the pommel. Inside the shield it said, The
Withered Legion.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They sent the fiery magical bird to
send word to the Mage in the city of Larm about the weird humming
tapestries. They put on the magical Minotaur crown and learned that
the arcane symbols on them stood for: Blue Peace, Green Patience, Red
Release, Yellow Harmony. The colored robes that the Sleegos were
wearing had the same symbols meaning the same thing.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The group then headed off to the town
of Nahm. They put the tapestries on the walls of the groups
dwellings. They wanted to have the mages scribe some more scrolls.
At 9AM the next day the 3 moons eclipsed each other and then the sun
itself, and the skies went black with slight tri-color coloration to
everything from the light of the moons. The militia bells started
ringing and then men started to man the walls.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
Hundreds of soldiers could be seen far
off in the distance, and then the group started to hear the drums of
battle begin. The leader of the militia hadn't sent out any runners,
so Cyr used his Dust of Disappearance and his Elven Boots to sneak up
on the army to see what was going on. He saw rank upon rank of
intelligent looking skeleton troops wearing chainmail and platemail.
There were skeletons riding Hell Hounds. He guessed the ones wearing
platemail were the leaders. Cyr heard them saying many times, “It's
great that someone finally broke the seal!” Cyr guessed /
realized that the tapestries must have been a seal to keep these
undead in Darves Hill.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
Grunka's Company recruited the one-eyed
ogre named Gronn (who moves the “god rocks” every day to make the
pantheon symbol by the side of the Temple) to help defend the walls.
They told him to hurl the god rocks at the Skeletons. Then they
decked him out in the Minotaur armor and gave him “Black Death”
the Minotaur's sword. Overhead they saw the Dragon flying over,
seemingly checking out what was going on below.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The mage from Larm showed up in the
Temple in town, and the group went off to see what he could tell
them.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
This wizard (who has not given them his
name yet) sighed when he saw what tapestries. He told them that all
of the buildings on Darves Hill were meant to keep the things inside
the hill. He said they could not be replaced. A ritual was
performed and those tapestries were originally set up. The wizard
told them that the Minotaur's impressive armor and sword must have
belonged to someone of very high rank to have such powerful items.
One of the retainer's souls was offered to the wizard and he shook
his head. He told them that they should go get the Elves to help...
with a smirk on his face. He knew that the Elven genocide started
here in Nahm. He told them that they made their bed and now they
have to sleep in it. He told them to contact him again if they
survived and found more artifacts.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The skeleton army marched and came just
out of reach of arrows. Gronn started hurling his god rocks out at
them. Joshua drank his Fly potion and then when he got within 60
feet of the Green Dragon he drank the Control Dragon potion. They
had 12 rounds of Drgon Vloxaxis (they asked him his name) fury. He
told Vloxaxis to destroy the Withered Legion. Joshua blessed and
protected the Dragon from Evil.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The Chlorine gas breath weapon killed
the Hell Hounds, and then it made many sweeps at the army. It then
landed in the midst of them and destroyed them. Maybe 40-50
skeletons survived. They fled to the North back to Darves Hill.
Joshua flew after them and made sure the Dragon was also heading back
to the Hill.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They inspected the field of battle, and
they noticed that Gronn the one-eyed ogre could also cast low level
healing spells. They found 120 amulets, 160 short swords, 100
shields, and 110 suits of chainmail, and 30 suits of Platemail.
Gronn was collecting his god rocks. They let Gronn keep the armor
and sword. Gronn asked for forgiveness for hurling a rock near
Thimple in the past. He asked if Militia would tell him if town
needed help. Uldritch was the leader of the militia now. He told
them that the Dragon “ate the town” when he was young.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
Even though they defended the town from
the Withered Legion, they reminded themselves that the seal was
broken, and that things in the dungeon could now exit through the
surface. Thus ended the session.</div>

<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
February (48-49)</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
48</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
We got some new recruits with the
change of location that have joined up with Grunka's Company. I've
gotten pretty terrible at taking notes since I started recording the
audio files, and I really need to include the names of the characters
that show up (since I never can remember so many names).</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
New Characters (I think). Theodius,
Blevins, Percy, El-Rashid, Tristan, & Gabriel.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The new recruits saw the giant green
dragon that was wrapped around the ancient temple on the very top of
the hill. At this point the group had explored all of the surface
buildings, the 1st level (currently filled with blood),
75% of the 2nd level, and a few areas of the 3rd
level. The new guys noticed how gnarly, scarred, and beat-to-hell
the surviving members of Grunka's Company were.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They noticed more of those black swarms
of insects traveling from the South and heading North. They had no
idea where they were coming from or where they were going to.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
Down into the depths of Darves Hill the
group went. They found several deadly traps, but they were able to
disable them. One of the traps wasn't disabled but it failed. They
found old blood smeared all over the floor of a hallway.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They found more blood smears in the
rooms, and they assumed that these wounds were caused by some of the
traps in the area. Somebody or several people came to a bad end here
it seemed.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
In another room the group heard
spellcasting going on, and then many of them were held in place by a
spell. They didn't see who cast this spell on them. They heard the
sound of a dragging chain coming closer to them. There was a scene
where people were running in a hallway and others were hurling
javelins and darts into the darkness. It was rather silly, but
surprisingly no one got hit in the gut.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
Thimple drank his Mist potion and
turned into a Gaseous Form and then drifted down to the end of the
hallway, where he popped up behind the 4 Gnoll Spellcasters.
Everyone else was hurling weapons at them. Then the Gnolls unleashed
a barrage of Magic Missles on the party. Thimple killed two of them
by stabbing them in the back after he turned back from being mist.
Surprisingly the casters didn't notice, and then Thimple killed off
another one.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The last Gnoll raised his hands, and
said he would answer any questions. Thimple killed the last Gnoll.
He doesn't have a great track record when it comes to people that
surrender.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They heard more booted feet coming
towards them from behind one of the doors. An undead creature of
some sort (Wight) was armored and had a horrible looking beast on a
chain. The dog-like creature belched forth flames and they thought
it was a Hell Hound.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
Targ sliced off one of the front legs
of the Hell Hound and it crumpled to the ground dead. The Wight was
quickly killed. In a back circular room there were torture devices.
Thimple killed the living Kobold and tortured humans there. Cyr put
on a ring and his hand turned black. Cyr touched the Cleric
Gabriel's back. 2D12 was the number of days till he died from it.
The skin withered to gray. There was almost a PvP situation but it
resolved.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They heard more booted feet and another
possible Hell Hound coming near them.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
49</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They ambushed the oncoming Hell Hound
and destroyed it. They found a black flame brazier, 15 emeralds, and
all kinds of disturbing plaques with taxidermy faces, arms, hands,
etc. They kept messing with the black flames in the brazier until
they finally broke it. It gave off twice the amount of heat as a
normal torch but it gave off no light. They thought it was the dog
dish for the Hell Hound. The brazier cracked when the Cleric put his
holy symbol into it.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The group heard the sound of lots of
bells ringing...</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They realized the room they were going
to enter had a way up to the rooms that were not flooded with blood
on the 1st level. They heard the sounds of breathing.
They broke in the door and saw an impressive looking minotaur. The
Cleric Joshua cast a Hold Spell off of a scroll and the Minotaur
failed (Natural 1 rolled). They killed the minotaur (that was
overseeing the fights in the Arena). He had a black metal
greatsword, and impressive platemail armor and plenty of gold and
silver, a signet ring, and a crown. The platemail, sword, and crown
were magical.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The signet ring had a symbol of a
minotaur head with broken swords crossed. In it they found a small
dose of poison. From behind them they heard lots of booted feet
(perhaps summoned by the ringing bells).</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They went upstairs because those
outside the room they were in started burning the wooden door. The
smoke started to fill the room upstairs where everyone was. They
debated about opening up another door with all of the blood on the
other side (which would have drowned them). Luckily they didn't do
that. They were coughing on the smoke, and debating what to do.
They were caught between fire and blood.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
ESP was cast to see what was going on
below, and they learned that there were 8 Gnolls down there that were
piling up furniture and burning it. The smoke was filling up every
room between the group and freedom. Thimple bravely covered his
mouth and attempted to close the secret doorway to reduce the smoke
without success and he took some smoke inhalation. They started to
break small holes in the door keeping the lake of blood back. The
room continued to fill with smoke... They were thinking that they
would flood the fire out below with the blood, but this would have
more than likely ended the session with a TPK (Total Party Kill).</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
Theodius died from the smoke. Below
the Gnolls noticed the blood flowing down so they retreated from the
burning door that was put out and then spiked the doors to the
adjoining room so that they blood would be contained. The characters
realized that if they waited long enough they would die from the
smoke inhalation or by drowning in blood.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They managed to break open the doors
spiked by the Gnolls and as they were exciting, doors opened and
shadowy forms emerged. Gabriel the new Cleric cast Light on one of
the Shadows as everyone else fled upstairs to flee the dungeon (since
they were all nearly dead). Gabriel died a horrible death and
galently dying to help the others escape. He crumpled under the pain
inflicted upon him by the Shadows.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The rest of them breathed deeply when
they broke the surface, thankful to be alive. They divided up the
6,000 GP, and 5,000 SP. There were also the 15 emeralds (75 GP
each).
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The group hung out in town for 3 weeks
to identifying all the Minotaur's item. His crown was a helm of
comprehend languages and read magic. The Minotaur King's Great Sword
made from a dark black metal, “Black Death” was +4 and on a 19/20
2D8 dmg, the target hit by the sword needs to make a Save vs. Death
or die. They got the feeling that it was a very well known item, and
if anyone sees them wielding it would know where it came from. They
also found out that a demon is trapped inside of it, though it isn't
an intelligent item. The plate mail was +2 and Climbing at 99%.
It also had the Minotaur's crest on the chest.

<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
January Recap (46-47)</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
Black Swarm of insects heading North
towards the Dwarven Kingdom. The Goblin/Elven War is still going on,
but it is rumored that many Elves died in the first battles. They
returned to Namh and it seemed like the defenses were set up
correctly. He elevated one of the Militia men to Sergeant. Barnabas
was his name. He was paid by Grunka and was given 50 Gold to keep
the Militia in shape, and to make sure they were kept in line. “Her
High Generalness” said that she would be back to check on his work.
Barnabas told them of several murders in town, where all of the
victims were missing their heads. Ogden & Palmer (engraver and
jewelsmith) both died in the murders, and Yetta a random townsfolk
all died. The Mayor looked into it, but he never found anyone.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They went to talk to the Mayor. They
managed to scare one of the Mayor’s kids by telling them of the
murders. They then talked to one of his older daughters. The Mayor
told them of other swarms of insects. There were no tracks
associated with the murders. They were told that the Goblin Tribes
had unified for the first time in 200 years to go attack the Elves.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They talked to a husband of one of the
recently slain women that happened while they were talking to the
Mayor. Wendy was the name of the slain woman. They went to the
murder scene and then followed the very strange clues and were slowly
tracking the murderer back into town from the outskirts of it. The
trail lead them up on the roofs of several buildings. They learned
that one of the houses in Nahm used to have a wizard in there that
used to perform strange rites and experiments.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They returned back to their homes that
were given to them by the Mayor, and they found the 4 heads there.
One of the heads was hanging in the window, as if it was set up so
that people would see it. They found a single large foot print lined
with blood. Outside they found another boot track, but it was mostly
covered by stones. This was in front of the Inn, and they asked if
he saw anyone in front, but all he saw was an elderly couple of the
townsfolk. The trail looked like it was heading towards the Temple.
Stinky smelled the foot print and then he followed the trail. Stinky
lead them towards the Temple. Gronn the one-eyed ogre was outside,
but he said that he didn’t see anyone enter or leave the Temple.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They discovered that Ur-Masha was the
murderer. Stinky smelled the boots and confirmed that it was him.
During the battle they learned that Ur-Masha was a Liche. During the
battle Grunka was slain by the Lich with a touch of death. After a
hard fought fight and a brutal hit from the holy warhammer, snakes
poured out of the body of Ur-Masha/Lekorh and then the snakes turned
into mist. This mist traveled North towards Darves Hill. They then
realized that the Lich Lekorh knows a lot about their party and what
their goals are.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They told the town that Ur-Masha was
possessed by a Lich, and that he was responsible for the murders.
The whole town showed up at the Temple to see the evidence, and the
Mayor was thankful for them finding the murderer and revealing the
true nature of the “Priest.” The townsfolk gave the Heroes of
Nahm many small items and coins in thanks.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The group looted the Temple to a
certain degree, but since Metham was the new High Priest there, he
didn’t want to remove all of the treasures from there. There were
also poisons disguised as healing potions. They gave Grunka a
glorious burning as befits the popular religion in the area… and
then looted his corpse. <span style="font-family: Wingdings;"></span>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
Brother Joshua was the new recruit, and
they informed him of how Grunka & Company did things. They
divided up the potions from the Temple, including a potion of Green
Dragon Control (after Tim fudged the dice rolls a bit). <span style="font-family: Wingdings;"></span>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
Lots of Cannibals on Level 3… and
they learned that the Skull is a beacon of necromantic energy (wawawa
noise & green energy). They also seemed to be trapped on Level
3. There was also 4,000 gold stored in the Temple.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">

<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
December’s Summary</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">

New characters: Dwarf Moorc &
Cleric Abraham.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
“Grunka & Company” were joined
by these new characters Moorc and Abraham, who had heard of their
exploits and sought them out to partake in the glory that was theirs.
The group was anxious to get down to the Arena where they had placed
a certain cursed item (the black skull chime of cannibalism) and so
they started out. They planned out a course of action, using Old
Manx’s maps to try to get down to the Arena through unexplored
areas.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They worked their way into a long moist
corridor and the doors were covered with moss and fungus. Thimple
listened at the door and a puff of foul spores flew out at him. He
acquired Skin Rot or Mummy Rot from it, and his Charisma took a hit.
Cyr then burned away the fungus and moss with a torch, and scraped
the residue off so that he could listen at the door.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They heard the sounds of flesh smacking
against flesh, and possibly muddy water, but it was hard to tell with
an old wooded door between them and the sound. Metham’s holy
warhammer glowed brightly, and he warned that Undead lurked beyond.
The Clerics prepared to hold up their holy symbols to turn the foul
things.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
In the back of the room they saw a
glass case on top of a pedestal, and in front of the door. There was
also moss and fungus on all of the doors. The floor of the muddy
room was broken through and had a depression in it that was filled
with muddy water and the writhing forms of the Undead. Metham with
his piety in his god turned two of the filthy things. The other four
of them started climbing the muddy slope towards the door where the
characters were standing. Stinky (the melted face blood sniffing
Quasit Demon) was sent off to help attack the Ghouls.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">

</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They threw holy water into the Ghoul
Pit to great success. Splash damage is nice. The Cleric Metham
tried to slide down into the pit with his undead slaying hammer...
and stuck headfirst into the opposite muddy side. The Cleric pops
out of the side of the pit wall, and looks like he had a mud facial.
Eventually they destroy all of the undead.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
There was an undead animated hand in a
glass case that had a signet ring of an eagle on it. Metham smashed
the case and the animated hand was running around the muddy pit.
Some of the group wanted to destroy the hand and others wanted to
keep it. In the end Stinky was the one that put the ring on, but he
wore it as a wristband. It made him dizzy, but that passed.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
42</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They realized that there was a trap
door above them, but they didn't want to open it since the entire
level above them was filled with blood.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
In the next room they found a mutant
Gnoll with a hideously large head that seemed to have a growth of
some sort on it, and this large headed freak was ordering the 7 other
Gnolls to attack the group. They stopped fighting, and the Gnolls
wanted to get bribes from the party. Instead they just slaughtered
them all like dogs.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
43</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
After slaughtering the last group of
Gnolls they find another 12 of them in a large room that had a throne
in it. Thimple was able to survive the mummy rot on his face, but he
is not a very attractive Halfling now... at 4 Cha. :)
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
44</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
Two Gnolls knocked one of the Clerics
down the stairs, and the group could hear something making noises
with a chain on the level below. The group followed the Gnolls down
the stairs... and then they ran into a room with a caged and
blindfoled reptilian creature, with dull brown scales and a yellow
underbelly. They thought this thing was a basilisk. The remaining
Gnolls upstairs were slaughtered.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The two Gnolls that ran down the stairs
(won the initiative) and then took the blindfold off of the basilisk.
SAVE VS. PETRIFY. Thimple failed, Grunka failed, Mescillius failed.
So... all of the characters downstairs were turned to stone, and
then everyone upstairs ran down after them. Targ was okay, the
Cleric turned to stone, and the Dwarf was turned to stone, and Metham
was okay. So... Targ and Metham were the only two characters not
turned to stone. Stinky the Quasit Demon... managed to save too,
and then he pulled the ear of the basilisk around to turn the
remaining Gnolls to stone. Stinky then put the blindfold back on the
basilisk.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The remaining characters that weren't
turned to stone, dragged out the remaining statues/characters. Larm
was the closest known city and it was in the west, where they hoped
to find a high powered wizard that could cast a Stone to Flesh spell.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
45</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
What was kind of ironic about the
characters being turned to stone, was that they were carving statues
of the heroes in the center of the town of Nahm. They used the
teleport circles that were in two of the outside buildings to help
move the statues down the hill and they got the cart and took them
back to town. Then they headed to Larm.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They contacted a Mage's Guild in the
city of Larm. They agreed to turn all of the statues back to flesh,
to the relief of everyone. They learned that the guy stuck in the
emerald was an ancient spellcaster that was stolen from the Mage's
Keep. They also identified some of the group's mysterious magic
items.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The Mage's took a step back when Cyr
took out his coin, and they told him it was an ancient artifact.
They believed that this artifact was made when the two higher deities
were worshiped instead of the younger gods. They also felt that
there are two souls trapped in the artifact coin; the souls of twin
girls. They told him it was an ancient holy thing that possesses
much power. The artifact is Bane vs. Demons.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They also learned that the Elves did
not fair well when the Goblins massacred them. All of the tribes of
Goblins got together and nearly wiped out the Elven civilization.
The Goblins have set up shop in the Elven homelands.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They were told to be on the lookout for
a simple mirror with a mithril exterior, and to contact them if they
found it. The Mages gave them an egg, that could be used to summon a
magical bird. They were told it was a lot faster than a carrier
pigeon to contact them. They told them they would get around 5,000
GP for the item if they found it.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They learned that Stinky had a ring
(wristband for him) that has a malevolent spirit in it that can aid
the wearer.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">

<br />
<br />
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
October’s Summary</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
There was a bit of background noise for
the first half of this session, but when all of the other gamers went
home it got a lot quieter.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
Two new recruits (and one new player
Christopher): Claude the Wizard, and Harrison the Fighter stumbled
upon the group of adventurers and had heard of their exploits and
wanted to join their group. There was some discussion about the
campaign so far, and how they have been progressing through the
megadungeon. They also talked about some of their standard operating
procedures.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They heard some mucus-ladened voices
that they had heard the last time they encountered some Troglodytes.
They kicked in the door and they were ambushed by the Troglodytes but
the attacks missed by a mile. The smell was horrible and assailed
their nostrils in the enclosed room. Thimple killed off one with his
sacrificial dagger of Baenur, and the other one gave up but then
Thimple slaughtered him from behind in a very quick and painless
fashion.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They found a fancy looking carpet with
stuff on the inside of it. They unrolled it and it was 20’ by 10’
in size. The group was unrolling the carpet in a very tactical and
careful fashion. They found a dark Elf but all of the moisture
seemed to have been removed from the body, so it looked like a
human-like raisin. Dust and dried skin particles filled the air when
they removed the body from the carpet. They found a bastard sword, a
wand, and some jewelry around her neck, as the body turned out to be
a female. The wand had an emerald on one side and a ruby on the
other side. It had 10 flat edges that ran the length of it. It had
a name on the side of the sword that said Glorious Blood in the
ancient tongue. Thimple received a message from his sacrificial
dagger about what the sword did. The wand turned out to have the
Knock spell cast into it. Claude the Wizard put on the necklace and
seemed to improve in his looks, and had a lot more confidence it
seemed. He also informed them that enemy spellcasters would have a
difficult in affecting him with spells.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The group was looking forward to going
down deep into the dungeon to see what their Skull Chime of
Cannabalism did in the arena, but they wanted to wait for awhile to
let the effects take their toll first.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They rolled up the Troglodyte in the
fancy carpet and all of the water was removed from the body. The
Carpet of Dehydration was what it was then named. When they hit the
Troglodyte it turned into dust, and a key fell out of it. They
picked up the key and they discussed what they were going to do with
the red, blue, and black lined carpet. The carpet also seems to stay
completely clean.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The saw a giant sphere of green glass
and it filled the entire room. A smaller black sphere was rolling
around inside of it in seemingly random directions. An oil lamp was
hanging from the ceiling and it was the only light. “Lekorh,
Lekorh, Lekorh” was written on the wall in blood. A grotesque
looking demon figure popped into visibility and startled Harrison and
Claude and it was perched on Cyr’s shoulder. This was of course
Stinky the Quasit Demon, and Cyr’s Coin seemed to be repelled by
the sphere slightly.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They saw a small slit in the side of
the sphere, but it took them awhile to figure out that they could put
their newly acquired key into it. The black sphere inside seemed to
be moving faster now that they characters were in the room. Stinky
disappeared when the group tried to get him to put his finger in the
keyhole, he didn’t like the looks of it. Stinky handed the key to
Cyr.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
Cyr put the key into the sphere and the
outer green sphere opened up, and the smaller black sphere rolls to
your feet and starts spinning. The black sphere was 6” in diameter
and it followed Cyr (since he put the key in the keyhole). The weird
thing was that when it rolled on the rocky ground it made absolutely
no sound. Stinky the Quasit Demon seemed to be terrified by the
sphere. Before leading the room they grabbed what they thought was
an oil lamp, but it seemed to be a small magical glowing creature
that was trapped in there. Cyr tried to put his coin near the black
sphere but he could only force it to about 6 inches away before he
couldn’t force it any closer. Cyr climbed up the wall and the
sphere rolled over to the wall and then followed him up the wall,
defying gravity.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The next Troglodytes they fought were
using poison tipped weapons and were looking for blood. They were
all slain brutally by the magical weapons of the party. They figured
out that whoever owns the key, controls the sphere. They also
learned that if the sphere doesn’t have an owner (by setting the
key down) it returns to its green sphere.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They went to another room that was
filled with tons of mushrooms and what they thought was a leg. They
found three 20 year old males laying face down in the mushrooms, and
they seemed to be half submerged in the mushrooms. When they dragged
one of the bodies out they realized that the mushrooms had grown into
the person’s face, and stomach. They looked like they needed more
help than the party could give them.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They learned that the mushroom covered
naked human was born a slave down in the Slave Pits which was located
somewhere deep down in the dungeon. They also dragged out the other
two humans from the mushroom room.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They found an exit to the surface from
the 2nd level of the dungeon that went up to one of the
buildings up on the surface. The humans were really pale, and they
had never been out on the surface of the world. The sky and the
lights in the sky scared them. When they peeked out of the building
they saw that the large Green Dragon had returned and was curled
around the Temple at the top of Darves Hill. The Dragon had lots of
fresh wounds and scars so they assumed it was possibly off fighting
something. They joked about using the Carpet of Dehydration to turn
the Dragon’s tail into dust.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The slaves were a bit unsure of what to
do with freedom, and they told the group that they had been mushroom
farmers for their slavemaster. Cyr pointed out that it was rather
ironic that they were mushroom farmers and now had mushrooms growing
out of their skin. They also told the group that the Fungal Dryad
had bought them to feed her mushrooms, and also to feed the
Troglodytes.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The group then traveled back to the
town of Nahm so that they could try to help out their newly freed
slave friends.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
Nahm seemed to be getting back to
normal. They went to the Temple and talked with Ur-Masha. They
presented the three free slaves to him and asked for his wisdom. He
told them it would take awhile and that they could start here. They
were surprised that there were no mushroom farms in the area. Grunka
gave them some gold to start their own business.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
Ur-Masha said that the sphere was a
Mordenkainen’s Sphere. He said it was some sort of protective
device for the owner against magic but he wasn’t sure what it did
exactly. Claude the Wizard cast Magic Missile at Cyr and the
missiles were sucked into the black sphere.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The group cursed Ordok Throon since he
left without a trace and took everything that was in the chainmail
bag of holding. The group then redistributed some of their
hand-me-down equipment to the new recruits and hoped that they might
get a discount at the local stores since they helped fend off the
Goblin hordes.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The group noticed some swirling clouds
that seemed to be around Darves Hill. The group named the three
freed slaves after mushroom species because they had no names, and
didn’t understand the concept. Shitake, Portabella, and Kerminee
were their names. They left for the hill and camped out in some
light woods by a creek, and through the night they heard the Dragon
flying overhead many times.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
In the morning they saw that the
swirling pattern of clouds is about a 10 mile radius, and there were
light rains. They had to sneak past the sleeping Dragon to get below
to where they were before. It took them some time but they got back
down to Level 2.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
All of the doors were kicked in
previously in the area they checked first, and they saw some old
blood stains and torn up sacks and bags. Several more rooms seemed
like they were ransacked several weeks previous, and they saw some
prints in the blood.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The next door they went to seemed like
it was kicked in only to set off a deadly trap. They guessed that
the person or thing that kicked in the door died, and then something
else came along and ate their remains.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The next room had a false door that was
a nasty trap that included a large spiked ball, but they managed to
figure it out before it killed anyone. They found a few bloody gems
beneath the trap as well set on the trigger for the trap.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They walked past the plant that was on
the stairs down to Level 3 and they were attacked by flying barbs
that were shot out of its blossoms. As they left the room a small
rust brown dragon-like creature was sitting in the hallway and looked
up in their general direction. It was 2’ long and about a 1’
tall at its shoulders. Grunka approached the creature with jerky and
fed the creature. It singed the meat first and then devoured it. It
kept sniffing for more meat.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They eventually found out that this
creature was a pseudodragon THAT WAS VERY HUNGRY! It ripped open
Grunka’s backpack to get at the jerky. They were pretty sure that
this creature was the one that probably ate the dead bodies.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
The pseudodragon then lunged off of the
back of Grunka and then began to smell Claude’s spellbook and wand.
It seemed to be interested in the magic-user over the other
characters. It ate some of Claude’s hair and almost knocked him
over as it crawled up on his back.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They began to hear grinding noises from
the next room, but they weren’t sure what it might be. The door
was locked. They saw a Minotaur in the room sharpening a huge sword
on a grinding wheel, and they also saw some weapons hanging in the
room.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
Grunka and Harrison charged into the
room… only to fall face first into a trap that was an illusionary
floor trap. The Minotaur then chucked his huge sword through the air
and nailed Claude right in the chest. It wound have killed him
outright if he hadn’t been wearing the amulet. Claude is healed
but he has a huge sword through him.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
They threw Targ through the air out of
the hole with the goal of having him attack the Minotaur, but he
missed by about 5 feet. Thimple shot him from across the pit with a
shortbow. Harrison then bravely went up toe to toe with the Minotaur
and slashed him across the chest. It was a brutal battle that nearly
almost killed off several of the characters.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
Most of the weapons on the wall were
too large to wield, and they believed that all of them were
masterwork weapons. They also found some cure serious wounds
potions. They also found 3,000 gps worth of stuff in the room as
well such as gems, gold, silver, etc. </div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">

I also haven't updated the Darves Hill website either in a long time. I need to fix that.<br />
<br />
I spend way more time on YouTube than I do on Blogger, and Google+ has been devouring my time as well.<br />
<br />
I put together some Darves Hill playlists on my YouTube channel, and I'm in the process of going through ALL of the audio and picking out the gems while the rest goes on the cutting room floor. It's also making me realize that I am starting to hate the sound of my own laughter on the recordings...<br />

</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; margin-left: -.5in; margin-right: -.5in; margin-top: 0in;">After the brutal battle, the bleeding and splattered Drow corpses were lying all over the floor, and the bleeding adventurers pressed on into the dungeon.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They found some platinum pieces on the bodies, as well as a spell book and 5 scrolls.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They also found a circlet of silver that was around the Mage’s head.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They also snagged the 4 musical instruments that apparently the poets used from time to time.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; margin-left: -.5in; margin-right: -.5in; margin-top: 0in;"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; margin-left: -.5in; margin-right: -.5in; margin-top: 0in;">They wanted to open the trap door below the blood lake that was above them in the Temple on the surface of Darves Hill so that it would flood just about the entire level of the dungeon.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>While looking at the trap door and the stairs leading up to it, they spotted a volcanic idol to Orcus the Demon Lord of the Undead…<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Metham’s holy warhammer Death To Death was glowing, as it does normally when it is in the presence of Undead.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>In a nearby room they saw another fresco painting where Lekorh the supposed ruler of Darves hill is pictured hugging some bleeding demon that was holding the head of a woman.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They also saw a glyph that was inscribed in the Mage’s spellbook.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Ssussu was the name associated with that demon in the book that inscribes itself with blood.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They also found a throne made out of bones, hair, and stitched skin.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; margin-left: -.5in; margin-right: -.5in; margin-top: 0in;"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; margin-left: -.5in; margin-right: -.5in; margin-top: 0in;">Metham took it upon himself with his holy warhammer to smash the volcanic idol of Orcus.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Black mist came out of the cracks, as well as hideous looking insects.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>As the idol collapsed into shards, Metham ran back into a nearby room and hid from the mist and insects that was pouring out of it.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>It seemed that Metham destroyed a great evil artifact and didn’t seem… to have any consequences for smashing it.</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; margin-left: -.5in; margin-right: -.5in; margin-top: 0in;"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; margin-left: -.5in; margin-right: -.5in; margin-top: 0in;">The group then tried to decide how much of the first level of the dungeon that they wanted to flood with the above blood lake’s liquid.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They decided to close off some of the doors so that they could still get up and down but to also have nearly all of the dungeon completely submerged under blood.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They were also trying to figure out how they could drain a lake full of blood from below… and not drown doing so.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They eventually decided to use Targ’s pick axe to punch several holes into the trap door from below so that it would drain slowly and they would asphyxiate on blood.</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; margin-left: -.5in; margin-right: -.5in; margin-top: 0in;"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; margin-left: -.5in; margin-right: -.5in; margin-top: 0in;">They looted the throne finding some coinage, and they felt like they avoided something nasty, thanks to Metham smashing Orcus’ idol in the face.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They also found a box of white dust that they could not identify.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They then smashed the bone throne.</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; margin-left: -.5in; margin-right: -.5in; margin-top: 0in;"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; margin-left: -.5in; margin-right: -.5in; margin-top: 0in;">ALL OF LEVEL ONE WAS COMPLETED!!!<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>So now they’ve cleared out all of the surface buildings on Darves hill and the level beneath it.</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; margin-left: -.5in; margin-right: -.5in; margin-top: 0in;"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; margin-left: -.5in; margin-right: -.5in; margin-top: 0in;">The group then double checked all the rooms quickly, and opened and closed doors as they thought necessary in final sweep of the dungeon.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They realized that they were going to drown the mushrooms, and possible the Nixie though they thought he might survive since he was a watery creature.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They put the holes in the door and began draining the lake of blood from the Temple above to flood most of the 1st level of the dungeon.</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; margin-left: -.5in; margin-right: -.5in; margin-top: 0in;"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; margin-left: -.5in; margin-right: -.5in; margin-top: 0in;">Cyr, Mescillius, Metham, and Targ then decided to rest up on the surface of Darves Hill for several days.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They also wanted to see how the draining of the blood lake was doing.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>After the 2nd day of rest they noted that half of the blood lake had drained.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They also could see the female/monster creatures in the lake of blood, so they shot them from a distance with arrows.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They attempted to hide but the level of the blood was so low so they couldn’t get out of site.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The three disturbing creatures’ bodies then were floating in the liquid.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They could tell that the top of the creatures was a female torso, and the bottom was a mess of tentacles with a very large mouth filled with sharp teeth.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; margin-left: -.5in; margin-right: -.5in; margin-top: 0in;"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; margin-left: -.5in; margin-right: -.5in; margin-top: 0in;">They then descended into the depths of the dungeon once again.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The black and white face near the stairs down did not speak this time, but instead just peered at them.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The railing of the stairs looked like fists and arms, and Cyr found that it was trapped.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>He learned that if anyone touched the handles a spell would go off.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The top of each step was stone, and the downward part or the front side of the step seemed to be made out of some sort of watery stairs.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; margin-left: -.5in; margin-right: -.5in; margin-top: 0in;"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; margin-left: -.5in; margin-right: -.5in; margin-top: 0in;">LEVEL TWO!!!</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; margin-left: -.5in; margin-right: -.5in; margin-top: 0in;"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; margin-left: -.5in; margin-right: -.5in; margin-top: 0in;">They encountered some Yellow Mold, and got rid of it by spilling oil and burning it away.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; margin-left: -.5in; margin-right: -.5in; margin-top: 0in;"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; margin-left: -.5in; margin-right: -.5in; margin-top: 0in;">In another room they found another way up to one of the buildings on the surface.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They are starting to figure out that there may be multiple ways down to the lower levels of the dungeon on the surface of Darves Hill because of its topography.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They found a way up to the surface from level 2 so that they don’t have to go through level 1 to get there.</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; margin-left: -.5in; margin-right: -.5in; margin-top: 0in;"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; margin-left: -.5in; margin-right: -.5in; margin-top: 0in;">They then found a set of ordinary cast iron stairs that lead further down to the 3rd level of the dungeon.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They heard some horrible moaning, and headed into the next room.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Inside the room after the door was pushed open with a 10’ pole, they saw some spectral dark shadowy shapes.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Their mouths were stretched down to their stomachs and wavering in the air.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Metham tried to turn them to no avail.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The Shadows then began to drift towards them.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Their fists passed right through them and seemed to reduce their strength as they did so.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; margin-left: -.5in; margin-right: -.5in; margin-top: 0in;"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; margin-left: -.5in; margin-right: -.5in; margin-top: 0in;">Metham made quick work of the Shadows with his holy warhammer.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>In a pile of stuff in the room they found some strong healing potions, a small black cube, and also two swords.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>One had a double blade that dealt out fire damage, and the bastard sword dealt out cold damage.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; margin-left: -.5in; margin-right: -.5in; margin-top: 0in;"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; margin-left: -.5in; margin-right: -.5in; margin-top: 0in;">They found an evil looking black ivory skull with a cloth bag in the inside of it.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Inside the pouch they found some more coins.</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; margin-left: -.5in; margin-right: -.5in; margin-top: 0in;"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; margin-left: -.5in; margin-right: -.5in; margin-top: 0in;">In another room they were attacked by ghouls, but once again they made quick work of them (because I rolled terribly hehe).</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; margin-left: -.5in; margin-right: -.5in; margin-top: 0in;"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; margin-left: -.5in; margin-right: -.5in; margin-top: 0in;">They avoided a death trap room that flooded, and went the safer way.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The next room contained a strong stench of sulfur.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They found a small blue skinned Imp that was a devil.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>It began to talk to them and try to get them to make a deal.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>It seemed to want them to be spellcasters, but they weren’t.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>It then turned invisible.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>“Do you want to make a deal?<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Do you want to cast?<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I can give you power… you just have to do things for me once and awhile.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I can give you information.”<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>He was flying around and talking to them.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>“Don’t you want to see in the dark, that torch is bright?”<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Metham said that he didn’t make deals with devils.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>“I have served Clerics before… you know.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I can help heal you too.”</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; margin-left: -.5in; margin-right: -.5in; margin-top: 0in;"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; margin-left: -.5in; margin-right: -.5in; margin-top: 0in;">They didn’t deal with the devil, and then it attacked them.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>In the fighting Cyr got hit in the back by friendly fire.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>It then disappeared and said that it would see them later.</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; margin-left: -.5in; margin-right: -.5in; margin-top: 0in;"><br />

Once again, this is a RPG book, and it isn't real (it's just a game).Samwise7http://www.blogger.com/profile/14296829227652295385noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8872474369148690245.post-35751365903536782052011-05-31T10:14:00.000-07:002011-05-31T10:15:06.086-07:00Honey Do List... aka June's Game CanceledI have some projects to do around the house (drywall, insulation, attic flooring, and yard work) and since most of my players can't make it to the June's session I'll be doing that stuff instead. We should be playing in July though, so look for another update then.<br />
<br />
I hope to put together a review for The Book of Ebon Bindings (which I've been using to some extent in the Darves Hill campaign). I'll link to the review once I get it finished.Samwise7http://www.blogger.com/profile/14296829227652295385noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8872474369148690245.post-10287385301463460422011-05-31T10:10:00.000-07:002011-05-31T10:10:45.942-07:00May 2011 Game Session Summary & YouTube Audio<b>YouTube Darves Hill Audio Recordings</b> <br />

</div><div class="MsoNormal">“I lay the strictures of time and space upon you,</div><div class="MsoNormal">O Master of the ever-encroaching night!</div><div class="MsoNormal">I make these pages secure against the Unseen Coming Forth;</div><div class="MsoNormal">I lay the squares and draw the runes;</div><div class="MsoNormal">I surround myself with the incense and the blood,</div><div class="MsoNormal">With the stones and the instruments,</div><div class="MsoNormal">And with the sacrifices.</div><div class="MsoNormal">I encompass the guardianship:</div><div class="MsoNormal">O Whisperer, enter not! </div><div class="MsoNormal">O Wanderer of Tombs, seek me not!</div><div class="MsoNormal">O One of Spheres, call me not!</div><div class="MsoNormal">O Lord of the Unending Grey, your power touches me not.</div><div class="MsoNormal">I repeat the Names in peace; I say the Words with impunity.</div><div class="MsoNormal">None can come against me.</div><div class="MsoNormal">I shall not be borne forth from here!</div><div class="MsoNormal">I shall not be sent down into that land from whence none returns,</div><div class="MsoNormal">And where all mouths are choked with silence.”</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">They went into the next room, but when the door was opened the eyes took the opportunity to stare at each of their faces in turn.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They took the opportunity to check the maps they bought from Old Manx (so the players didn’t have to map parts of the dungeon).<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They had plans to eventually drain the blood pool from above in the Temple on the top of the hill.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They really didn’t talk about the logistics of actually pulling that off, but continued on into the depths of the dungeon.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">They heard a throaty voice in the darkness, followed by some flopping wet feet, and then a splash.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They smelled rotting wet vegetation, mud, and other unhealthy smells.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>As they approached they found a slimy residue on the ground.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>A large green and barbed slimy appendage flew through the opening of the door, and wrapped around Thimple the Halfling who in turned stabbed it with the Baenur sacrificial dagger.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Mescillius the Fighter attacked (and got a natural 20) with his great sword that doesn’t like snakes and other watery slimy things.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The sound of sizzling flesh was disgusting, and then it pulled the appendage back into the room.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Cyr shot an arrow which pinned another appendage of the creature down into the shore of the murky pool in the next room.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">Targ waded into the pool and stabbed into the murky water blindly but missed.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The group grabbed the pinned appendage and started to tug on it while others started slicing the pinned flesh.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>A mass of disgusting and writhing tendrils emerged from the pool, and it had a single large eye with a sharp beak in the center of its face.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Thimple the Halfling did a jumping dive with the Baenur sacrificial dagger, and stabbed the creature right in the eye…<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>It looked like a nightmare as the little evil bastard plunged into the milky eye that popped and leaked all over him.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The evil dagger killed the swampy horror.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">They searched the room and pool and found a secret door covered with vegetation, and some skeletons in the pools.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>In the victim’s backpack they found some rotten worthless scrolls, and some silver and an emerald.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">There was some shenanigans between the various thieves in the group and they realized it was a good thing to have many eyes to find traps.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>In the secret room they found a Gnome, who it seems once mined up on the surface with the other mumbling gnomes.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The Gnome was surprised to see them enter the room and seemed to be full of him self.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They saw a couple of other books on the shelf.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>He didn’t seem very threatening, but he began to cast a spell.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They tried to jump over the desk to attack the Gnome, but everyone missed horribly.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Then Mescillius reached behind the desk and yanked him up into the air.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>He held him up like a Gnome piñata while everyone beat him.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">The Gnome’s eyes rolled back into his head, and everyone felt the power of a spell upon them.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They felt an evil wave that spread through the room.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Those that failed took damage that almost killed some of them.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They were thankful for the healing amulets.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They noticed the wounds of the Gnome had healed up.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The fighter then flung the Gnome onto the top of his desk, and he landed on the floor like a sack of evil potatoes.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Targ, another fighter then pinned him to the floor with a pickaxe.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Then everyone else took turns kicking the Gnome until the room looked like a bloody crime scene.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They found some silver, a jar of eyes, the books (which focused heavily on Necromancy and on Undead), and a nice dagger (possibly magical).<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The words Eniga were on the dagger, which means, “Biter.”<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The dagger looks like it is made of two different types of metal.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">They also found an Undead Gnome locked in the desk, but he was tied up and gagged in the large drawer.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They killed the thing in the drawer, and then threw the desk into the pool with both dead Gnomes in the drawers.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They assumed that the Undead Gnome was an abducted Gnome Miner from the surface.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">Grunka kicked open the door out of the back of the Gnome’s room and found an enormous room filled with hundreds of fungi, phosphorescent moss, and giant mushrooms (up to 14’ tall).<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The room reeked like decaying matter.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>There was lots of “Mungus.” hehe.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>After they entered the room, they noticed that some of the mushrooms were swaying in various ways.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">They came to an archway that had lots of bits of flesh hanging by strings (that turned out to be intestines).<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>It was dried flesh, but it looked about 2 weeks old.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>There were other archways leaving the room, and all of them had hanging bits of flesh.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>In the corner of the room they found a pile of flesh.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They knocked all of the flesh down from the arch.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They found a ring that was a piercing in the flesh.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>It was a ring with a wavy bit of blue glass in the middle of it. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Quinn decided to pierce his nose with the ring.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">In the hallway leading from the room they found that the floor was covered in ground up bone chunks.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Cyr impressed the other Thief because he was able to sneak down the hallway (even though he had Elven Boots on).<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Cyr saw another one of the white and black faces that was breathing in and out.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Cyr got the feeling that the face was seeing more than just the physical.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>It began to speak:</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">“Hail, Origob, Master of Silences, Lord of Irreality!</div><div class="MsoNormal">No more are you in this place, no more are you here!</div><div class="MsoNormal">Minions, servitors, adorers, all are gone and none remain!</div><div class="MsoNormal">All is done, all is as it should be! The Skein has unfolded.</div><div class="MsoNormal">The fabric of the worlds is as before; naught is altered.</div><div class="MsoNormal">All is as we have entreated you, all is as you decree!</div><div class="MsoNormal">A voyage in glory unto your homeland, Beyond the World, Realm of Sighs!</div><div class="MsoNormal">A far-travelling, O Lord, between the realms of being!</div><div class="MsoNormal">All hail, Lord Origob, all hail!”<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">The Cleric realized that this name is the name of a powerful demon… and mentioning the name out loud is supposed to have dire consequences.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They started wondering why these faces were speaking of demons.</div><div class="MsoNormal">They found a poor tortured Fey creature of some kind that was hung up on the ceiling by a series of pulleys<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>and ropes.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>It had many scars from where flesh was removed in the recent past.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They lowered the creature down to the ground.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>His eyes opened, and they were entirely green.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They gave him water, and notices his tongue was removed, and he had shards of glass under his fingernails.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>He indicated with eye blinks that the Gnome did this.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They removed the glass and healed him up some.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>He seemed relieved that the Gnome was killed by the adventurers.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They assumed that he was some sort of Water Fey.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They noticed that he had a cut all the way around his neck…<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>He seemed to want to get around the adventurers, and they guessed he had to get to the pool.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">When the Nixie escaped the room, the head dislodged from the body, and black slimy wings emerged from his throat.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>It started heading to the stairway down to the 2nd level of the dungeon.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The body of the Nixie however started moving…<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>and was headed toward the pool.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>When its feet waded into the pool, it touched the hand of the adventurers and then dove into the pool.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They then dragged the monster and the desk out of the pool, so they wouldn’t foul the water for the Nixie.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The headless Nixie was swimming around in the pool and seemed to be happy.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They thought that since the creature grew its skin back that it could grow its head back as well.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Quinn realized that the ring piercing he has allows him to walk on water.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">They dragged the carcasses of the Gnomes and the creature into the “Mungus” room, and the bodies were digested in a relatively quick time.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They also noticed that the mushrooms seem to be a food source for other inhabitants in the dungeon.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">The next room they went into was carpeted with human skin, the walls were painted in blood, and the ceiling was covered in chunks of skin and hair.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>When they stabbed the skin on the floor, it bled.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Stinky the Quasit demon started snorting up the blood on the skin.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Then the skin carpet attacked the little demon, and rolled up over it.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They caught the skin carpet, and tried to unroll it.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>While they did this, the rest of the carpet attacked by trying to envelope them.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They managed to escape from the skin carpet after they burned and cut the skin.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">They entered the room at the end of the hall, and saw a Kobold casting a spell.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They were not able to interrupt the spell, and so it went off.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>A bunch of flaming rats flew out of the Kobold’s hand and blasted Quinn.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Cyr managed to get an arrow right into the Kobold’s throat killing it.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They could not put Quinn’s flaming rats out before the flames killed him…<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>So died Quinn from the flaming rat spell.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">The Kobold had a drawing book that illustrated various torture techniques and doodles.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They found some wealth under the bed in a disgusting rotting sack.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They thought it came from a corpse from the pool of water where the Nixie now resides.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They determined that the Gnome and the Kobold were working together.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They threw the Kobold in the “Mungus” room and the fungus started to sway differently.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Can mushrooms be happy?<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The party wondered.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">The next room they discovered some red flowers, and they found another way down to another level, and the banister on the stairs was made of stone arms instead of just normal wood.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>When they walked by the flowers they opened up their flowers, but they didn’t interact with them any more than that.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">They came upon a room of fighters gambling with some dice.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>There some wagers where they were gambling away their loved ones.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They ambushed them by shooting arrows into the room, and then the fighters charged out of the room.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The Thief Cyr stabbed the third one in the back, and brutally murdered him.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Both of the remaining fighters swung their great axes and missed horribly (I rolled like crap, hehe).<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They butchered the fighters and discovered that they had some prisoners in the sacks by the fire.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>These looked like “trustworthy fellows” so they joined the group.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Hehe.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The fighters had talked about Kerlon (the Gnome that the group killed earlier in the session).<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The group guessed that the new party members were going to be experimented on by the necromantic Gnome.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">In another room there was a black and red snake that didn’t last very long against Mescillius’ snake-hatin’ sword.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They determined that the snake was poisonous.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They determined that using poison might be too dangerous.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>(House rules, if you use poison and you roll a 1, you poison yourself).</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">They stumbled upon a lectern in what seemed like a religious room of some sort, with chairs as well.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The book on top of the lectern was a book of names, and they were dedicated to the goddess ZurBalta, the Queen of Darkness.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>One of the Clerics picked up the book.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The longer they stayed in the room the heavier they felt, so they left the room.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 12.0pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-language: EN-US;">The next hallway had a smell of burnt meat.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Thanks to the maps from Old Manx, they were able to find a secret room.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The room was a room with fires, and hanging human corpses.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>There was a pile of cooked meat, and some sharp cooking tools.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They heard some muffled screams coming from another hidden room.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They opened up the secret door and found a 2 feet tall Brownie that was cutting into a Gnome that was hanging from a metal hook in his back.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The Brownie hissed and growled and managed to cut and then bite into Grunka’s calf, but he didn’t stand much of a chance.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They rescued and healed up the Gnome that was captured.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The Gnome was well spoken for his kind, and then they decided to help him up to the surface.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They took Quinn’s body to the Temple in the town of Nahm where they burned it (as is the custom there).<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They crashed for the night, and so ended the session.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></span>Samwise7http://www.blogger.com/profile/14296829227652295385noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8872474369148690245.post-37869304605932921492011-05-12T09:17:00.000-07:002011-05-13T13:35:27.787-07:00Next Game This Weekend & Other UpdatesSo, it's that time in a GM's life when he realizes he needs to do some game prep, and he only has about an hour of free time left in week before the actual game, hehe. It's a good thing I have been keeping up on the game summaries so I can scan over them quickly to remind myself of what has happened before. Also, I've been blessed with great players and they set me straight when I blunder on something that happened in the past.<br />
<br />
Projects around the old house that we bought have started to pile up, so I've been working on those. My current job is to turn the unused attic into a space that actually has a floor instead of a series of wooden balance beams. The threat of rolling a natural 1 up there and falling through the ceiling was a real threat, hehe.<br />
<br />
Nothing like working in an uninsulated attic for a couple of days straight... I think I've lost a few pounds. :)<br />
<br />
So, look forward to another series of audio recordings from May's session, as well as a typed up summary. I need to get better with the character names. I think the main character / retainer thing is mixing me up, but that is added to the fact that I'm piss poor when it comes to remembering names.<br />
<br />
I was going to run a Midnight Campaign using Labyrinth Lord, but we've switched systems to Novus (a game in playtest right now from the author of H.A.R.P.). I'm looking forward to it, and it should be a nice political game since all of the characters will be evil priests trying to work their way up the hierarchy of the Order of Shadow.<br />
<br />
So for now I'll keep updating the game summaries and posting links for the audio files.<br />
<br />
Also, I turned in my turn 3 for the Domain Level LL playtest over at Hill Canton's blog, so hopefully that will get resolved and we can move onto turn 4. The Gibilki culture and settlement has been doing fairly well, and it is interesting to see the setting growing before my very eyes. It's been fun playing in a game that is toward the higher end of things, and worrying about all of my citizens.<br />

<br />
<div class="MsoNormal">The party brought back the girl Summer and the child from Darves Hill. They were going to be sacrificed to the god Baenur (the Son of Shadows), but the group rescued them. They also killed the evil priest, that seems to have been the root cause of several things in the town of Nahm. </div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">Summer’s father was saying strange things and they took him to the Temple in town. They delivered the baby to the priests of the Temple. It turns out that the glassblower had two black snake-like parasites that seemed to be messing with him or possibly possessing him. They removed the parasites with the help of Cyr’s holy coin artifact. </div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">They learned that the glassblower killed his wife and that he buried her face down up on a nearby hill by the Old Oak Tree. She was supposedly “collecting herbs” for a couple of months, said Summer. He also killed the seamstress and her half-orc son, and stole an infant from her place (that wasn’t hers either). They gleaned this from the glassblower after getting rid of the parasites. He told them that his wife was buried with her signet ring on her finger.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">They headed to the Seamstress’ house to see what was there. The half-orc son was nailed to the ground, and the Seamstress was completely butchered. Her room was covered in dried rotting blood. It looked very Helter Skelter, because the possessed glassblower wrote on the walls with her blood.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">They found a bloody book, that had lots of old blank pages. In the center of the book however they found a bunch of old arcane scrolls. The glassblower created a bunch of bloody illustrations of what he did to the seamstress. The scrolls seemed to be written in an archaic manner. The Elf was happy to have them.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">They found a loose board, and under the house was a pool of black ichor. They used Cyr’s holy coin artifact to destroy the snake-like creatures swimming in it, and the color turned gray. The Clerics thought that it was very possible that the ichor under the house was introduced, and that the woman and son could have been slain in a ritualistic manner to possibly summon these creepy parasites…</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">The glassblower’s house had bloody prints all over it. They looked under the porch and found a black box with the Baenur holy symbol on it. When Thimple pulled out his evil sacrificial dagger the Baenur Box moved closer to him. “Please stop taunting the evil box of doom.” One of the new recruits wanted to open up the box, and then most of the party failed their save vs. spell. Those that failed their save got some horrible or weird abnormalities to their person, and then the box vanished.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">The box vanishes. They tried to use Cyr’s coin to rid the strange effects that it had on them, but it didn’t help. On the hill by the oak tree there were 5 patches of dead grass. The war hammer that glows when it is near undead was glowing. They used the trusty 10’ pole and staked all 5 bodies, and the war hammer glowed no more. (I was quite impressed with this usage of the 10’ pole, hehe). </div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">There have been some other missing people in the town of Nahm, but the priest Ur-Nammu said that he would find out who is buried up on the hill, and if anyone else is still missing. The party members said that it was safer up on Darves Hill.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">The Seamstress’ place may become the group’s headquarters in town. The priest Ur-Nammu said he would put in a good word with the Mayor to see if they could purchase the house. Before they left they purchased some maps off of Old Manx, and they sold their donkeys to the Temple in town for 3 healing potions each.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">They headed towards Darves Hill, and they saw the Temple on the top of the hill was glowing in an evil red fashion. They decided to camp several miles away from Darves Hill. During the night ferrets-like creatures must have surrounded the party because they saw many footprints.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">They worked their way up to the Temple on the top of the hill that was glowing the night before. They opened up the door that seems like it has been repaired many times in the past. Inside the enormous temple there was a thick red light that they could only see 10 feet into at a time. They explored the area with a 10’ fog of war essentially.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">They discovered a very large pool of blood in the center of the floor. They also learned that there was a passage way down to the 1st dungeon level, but it was filled with blood. The pool was 100 feet across, and slightly longer. They heard some splashing in the center of the pool. They attempted to empty out the pool of blood with the bag of holding, but they realized this would take days upon days to accomplish this task so they gave up. </div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">Ordok Throon decided to wade into the pool of blood to see what was making the splashing noises in the center of it. They tied a rope to the Dwarf and he wandered out of their sight. The rope went out 80 feet and then the rope went slack. The rope looked like it was cut. They threw some more ropes in with a rock tied on the end of it several times, and eventually something grabbed hold of the rope and tugged them all face down into the blood. A few of them were able to stand up, and then they tugged the rope and whatever was holding it let go. </div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">They could hear something coming towards them in the blood, and they began running back out of the pool. It seems they distracted the unknown creature long enough to have them let go of the poor Dwarf, who broke free through the surface of the blood and started screaming and swimming/running towards shore. Ordok felt hands grab him and pull him under, and then they let go of him.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">The group ran around the outside of the pool screaming for Ordok to swim to them. They threw out another rope in the attempt to get the rope to him and pull him in. The creature was right behind Ordok at this point. The rock on the end of the rope hit the Dwarf right in the face. Ordok grabbed the rope just as his ankles were bit into by the creature behind him. He looked back, and with his one handed axe he swing at the thing behind him…</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">The Dwarf saw a gorgeous woman above the surface of the blood, but beneath the waves he could feel the large mouth filled with teeth biting his legs. The axe hit into her, as well as one of the arrows shot from the rest of the party on the shore. The wounds made the creature let go of the Dwarf’s legs, and then the rest of the party pulled him in via the rope.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">As they exited the Temple via going along the outside of the walls, they found all 16 of the gods of the pantheon represented via tall statues. There weren’t altars but there were ancient offerings at the feet of the statues. It seemed to once be a very ornate structure back when it was taken care of. They hope to drain the lake of blood down into the lower level of the dungeon via the hidden way down that they discovered that appears to lead down to a 20’ x 20’ room.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">They traveled to the left side of the hill where the building was that leads down to the lower levels. The magical mirrors of the room don’t seem to reflect the true shapes that they should. With the mirrors on the walls, the illusion of infinite reflections filled the mirrors. The wall bended when it was touched, and Cyr touched the Mirror and he was sucked into it with Stinky the Quasit Demon.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">Thimple the Halfling ventured into the mirror to save Cyr (and Stinky) from the wind and creature of the mirror. The rest of the group pulled on the rope around Thimple’s waist to pull them both to safety. Silverleaf the Elf decided to look at his handheld mirror, and then look into the mirrors on the wall. The mirror creature had yellow eyes, with horrible yellow and green skin. The mirror creature was holding Cyr’s reflection hostage.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">The walls of the room and dungeon were made from a dull dark stone. They heard two orcs talking and tried to sweet talk them into a trap. This failed, and one of them went running for reinforcements. A ballistae bolt just missed one of the characters and then they charged down into the dark tunnel. A lone orc was trying to reload the ballistae but he didn’t have enough time. They butchered him, and then continued on down into the darkness. They turned the now loaded ballistae around and started wheeling it after the running party members with its squeaky wheels.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">They were peppered with arrows from 4 orcs as they approached, but they barreled into them, and chopped them to bits. They spiked the door, and then hid behind the Ballistae as more Orcs were gathering behind the door. They set their trap, but when the door opened Cyr botched his shot with it, and the ballistae bolt missed its target. Thankfully no one was standing in front of it, or else they might have had a nasty shot to the back.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">More orcs poured into the hallway and were assailed by ranged attacks. The fighter types ran up to hack them to pieces, and made quick work of them. The room was empty, except for some nice filth. They also noticed that the shields of the orcs had a symbol of a broken toothed smile. </div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">We ended the session with the group still down in the 1st level of the dungeon.</div>Samwise7http://www.blogger.com/profile/14296829227652295385noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8872474369148690245.post-22892921951084612902011-03-31T08:15:00.000-07:002011-03-31T08:15:13.934-07:00Blogging vs. YouTubing...So, I think I need to figure out what to type out here, and what is better left for my rambling monologues on YouTube. I've been trying to put more of my old school thoughts in the blog and I think that is what I should be doing. Feel free to drop on by my YouTube channel for all things RPG however.<br />
<br />
So my monthly game of Labyrinth Lord has been going well. I have 5 devoted players, that all have good attendance, and good communication when they can't attend (which is awesome). I can't tell you how many times people have "no called, no showed" games in other campaigns. It is refreshing to have players like that. :)<br />
<br />
I am going to allow two floater players in to play in the April's game session, and we kind of figured that having two more players to absorb damage wouldn't be a bad thing. FRESH MEAT!!! I mean, new players...<br />
<br />
Hopefully we will have a nice quiet place to record the session again. Background noise from other games is not so good for an actual play podcast/video-thing. While I still don't have access to a plug-in for my laptop, I figured out a way to use a lower power level, so it doesn't drain my battery as fast.<br />
<br />
So, I'll still continue to do my videos, and try to keep this blog from gathering too much dust.<br />
<br />
I need to do some more prep for April's game, as it seems they might actually break the surface of Darves Hill and do some real dungeon crawling. What horrors await them beneath? My dark muse and my shoddy prep work will decide... Samwise7http://www.blogger.com/profile/14296829227652295385noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8872474369148690245.post-87840888454184417982011-03-16T07:38:00.000-07:002011-03-21T08:30:32.994-07:00March 2011 Game Summary & YouTube Audio Recordings<div class="MsoNormal">They stayed the night on Darves Hill after last session. </div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">They encountered a poison snake with wings. Cyr the Thief was bit in the neck and poisoned along with Metham the Cleric. The poison of the snake reduced the strength of those that it bit (by a d6 roll). We house ruled that if you hadn’t used your healing amulet that it would automatically go off if you were reduced to zero hit points. This of course can only happen once a day, because it has a 1/day healing ability. </div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">Grunk set off a trap on another building that changed the sex of the person that set off the trap. He was nicknamed Grunka, or Grunkette. They found some emeralds, and also an emerald with a small human trapped inside of it. There was some jokes around the table, "Collect them all!" </div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">The next building had a pit trap and Cyr the Thief avoided falling 60 feet to a spiky wet death. They found some large rats, then Silverleaf used the Sleep spell, and they killed off the remaining rats. Stinky the Quasit Demon slashed one up and then snorted its blood up its nose.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">They found some more teleportation devices, and how they worked, but there was still one that has a questionable destination. They also found the stairs to the 1st level of the dungeon below the surface of the hill, and it had some magical mirrors that weren’t investigated.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">They took a 12’ x 2 ½’ tall door off of the hinges, and used it to cross a 10’ pit trap. Later they figured out a way to take this door along with them...</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">They found a bunch of outhouses and Ordok the Dwarf decided to risk reaching into the wet dung to find any treasures buried within. He found a 4’ x 4’ chain ring sack, which turned out to be a large Bag of Holding that was the final resting place for 4 human skeletons. It was nicknamed the Shit Bag. They then shoved a bunch of stuff into the Shit Bag, including the 12’ door that they used to cross the pit trap.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">Silverleaf discussed the idea of waiting till he was of high enough level so that he could open a magic shop that specialized in selling Continual Light items. Others had talked about buying a house in the town of Nahm to store their items.<span style="font-family: Wingdings;"></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">Building 3’s door was knocked off the hinges, but they went to 4 & 5. These buildings are part of the main Temple complex at the top of Darves Hill. They encountered a talking lock that wasn’t happy to be picked, and it damned them. They encountered a room that was converted to being a church to the god BaeNur, the Son of Shadows. There was a wicked sacrificial dagger on the altar, and also another teleportation circle. The room had a definite creepy malevolent feeling in the room. Thimple grabbed hold of the sacrificial dagger, and was filled with dread, but also with a feeling in invulnerability and strength. He put it down (at least for then). </div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">They released a girl and a baby, that looked they were going to be sacrificed. Ordok almost lost a hand, from a nasty spell, when he opened the door. The girl’s name was Summer, and her father is the Glassblower in the town of Nahm. She didn't know who the baby belonged to. They plan to head back to town to return the kids. </div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">The Goblin that Thimple was supposed to meet, sold out the group to a Cleric that seemingly worshiped the god BaeNur. They battled the Cleric, and the battle nearly killed Metham the Cleric, but they quickly used another Healing Amulet to keep him from the clutches of death.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal">The daggers that the Goblins where using opened up once inside a victim, with barbed edges extending into the soft guts of the target. They are good 1-shot items in that once they hit, they have to be ripped out, doing more damage. The party snatched up these swords, and hope to use them in the future to great effect.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />

I figured that I would have time to listen to the recordings and take notes later, but a month goes by pretty quickly if you aren't paying attention. It is the morning before I head off to Pittsburgh to do some gaming, and I find myself trying to rush a summary that is half remembered, hehe.<br />
<br />
The group stayed the night in the town of Nahm, and wanted to get back into the madness that is Darves Hill. They left in the morning, and arrived in the evening. They saw that the greenish dragon on the temple at the top of the hill was sleeping still. Upon arriving, they started to explore the buildings on the surface of the massive hill. They discovered the lair of what they thought was some sort of undead creature, because the holy warhammer had glowed a faint white the last time they were near the creature that lived there. They saw the remains of its clawed hands, a half of a cow that they put out of its misery, and six upside down humans.<br />
<br />
The six humans were hanging from chains, and their heads were buried in the dirt. When they dug up the heads of the rotting humans, they discovered a moving bag in their mouths. Upon opening the bag, they found worms with human faces that were starting to grow "roots" into the skulls. They kept some of these strange worms, and destroyed the bodies and hopefully ruined what was happening in that room.<br />
<br />
They explored many other buildings on the surface of the hill, until they heard some sounds coming from the South that seemed like a fog horn. Four strange giants were intoning something in their howls. They had huge red twisted horns, lots of hair, and long tendrils that extended from their arms and they dragged them behind them. Some of the party members had heard of a strange race of Giants that are supposed to be a form of Mystic, with the ability to manipulate strange magics.<br />
<br />
The dragon woke up and came down off the hill to investigate, and one by one as the ritual chanting and singing continued, the Giants met their end by being gobbled up by the dragon. In the end, one Giant remained, and then the dragon laid on its side, and the Giant proceeded to cut a large chunk of its tongue from its mouth. After the large chunk of tongue was removed, the strange Giant Mystic began singing once more and then walked away from the dragon at a slow pace. The dragon after a short while shook its head (spraying tongue blood everywhere). It then flew up to the top of Darves Hill once again, but it kept flapping its head from side to side, shaking blood all over the place. They thought perhaps it was some spell component as a part of some ritual. It then crawled all over the hill in the night, and they thought it was rather cranky because it was missing part of its tongue. It fled halfway through the night, and the strange horrible noises on the hill returned once the predator had left. <br />
<br />
In one of the buildings they found a strange idol that was discovered was one of the gods of the Goblins. It was their "Mother." They later traded this idol to the Gnomes of Mumbling Speech. hehe. They killed a monstrous centipede in another building that looked like it was being fed by someone. They set up a wonderful ambush, and the planning helped them in the fight. They wondered if they killed another one of Marnal the Dwarf's pets, but it was fairly far away from where he lives, so they weren't sure. They managed to take one of the poison sacks from the centipede to use at a future time. In the corner they found a bag of nasty barbed caltrops with magical writing on the side of them that said "Toe Biter".<br />
<br />
In the morning (after resting in one of the buildings) they looked around on the hill. They found small pool of dragon's blood, and they collected some of this. The Quasit Demon started snorting the blood up its nose (because its mouth is sewn and melted shut). The blood of dragons is supposed to either be a blessing or have a curse to it. They saved some of the blood in vials, but they didn't do anything with it yet.<br />
<br />
They found a strange magical room with a marble floor. After some exploration and tapping on the walls, they found a secret lever that twisted and lowered the floor like a ramp down to the third level of the dungeon. They explored a little and found an arena where lots of goblinoids and other strange races were cheering on the combatants. One race of beings they discovered was a pink skinned creature with tusks and mucus all over it. They learned that Lekorh (the Undead ruler of the Hill) takes taxes from the event. They also talked with a goblin that wants to meet them the next day (that will be next session). One of the strange customs of the event was that the fans threw chunks of meat onto the arena during the parts that were exciting for them. Blorgoth seems to be one of the most popular combatants of the Arena. There were a few adventuring humans present, but the event was decidedly anti human, because they sacrificed captured human slaves to start each fight...<br />
<br />
They also encountered a lair of some Fungal Undead, and luckily for them they didn't inhale the spores from the abominations... Fire and oil were used to turn them into a bunch of crispy mushrooms. The Cleric was also able to defeat many of them with his Turn Ability by harnessing the power of AeBalt, the King of Light. <br />
<br />
On the surface of the hill (after realizing that facing hundreds if not thousands of amped-up goblinoids might not be a good idea) they encountered some Stirges holding up in a building. with some planning, and by containing most of them in the building by closing up the holes, they torched the inhabitants inside, proving that good planning can go a long way to keeping your group alive. The Elf's Sleep spell was proven to be very successful against them. One of the characters got a little proboscis action, and felt a little weaker.<br />
<br />
I'm really looking forward to today's game. :)Samwise7http://www.blogger.com/profile/14296829227652295385noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8872474369148690245.post-83441921479450007412011-03-07T14:35:00.000-08:002011-03-07T14:37:54.115-08:00Yeah, I Haven't Posted MuchSorry for the lack of posting. I need to go through my audio recordings of the last LL Session of Darves Hill and type up a summary. There hasn't been too much going on with the Domain LL PBEM game either, though I have formed an alliance with a nearby group of settlers in Nowhere, that should prove beneficial to both parties involved.<br />
<br />
My Monday night group finished up a Firefly/Serenity game, and then we played some 1-shots of Witch Hunter which has proven to be quite enjoyable. Witch Hunter uses a modified D10 dice pool mechanic, and it is fun to try to roleplay things out in the 16th/17th century period.<br />
<br />
Tonight I'm running a Goodman Games module, but I'll be using the Novus RPG (a game I've been playtesting lately). It is a fantasy game put out by the author of High Adventure Role Playing or H.A.R.P. I now have my name in Barbarians of Lemuria and Novus now. :)<br />
<br />

Here is my video for Novus that I did the other day:<br />

The next time I record however, I hope to have a better quieter location, and to place the laptop closer to the players, so you can hear them better. <br />

I think I'm a tad rough on them it seems. That is part of the old school that I have to get more accustomed to however. Darves Hill is my first real old school campaign, and I really am having fun with it. I'm hoping that the players who are more used to newer versions of D&D like the story aspect of the game, as well as exploring the megadungeon. <br />
<br />
The reason I was thinking about the high murder rate of Magic-Users was because I have all these pretty spells printed up on old crumbling paper, in a cursive type, and no one to use them... hehe.<br />
<br />
I need to block off some more time for prep this week, as the next session is going to be on Feb 12th. I'm also going to attempt to record the session, but I may have an issue keeping my laptop powered up for 4 hours if I can't find a plug. I may have to get creative with an extension cord to make it happen, and tip the gaming store to help pay their electric bill, hehe.<br />
<br />
The revealing of some of the past, as well as the large dragon resting on the temple that they have been paid to clear out, should prove interesting in the next few sessions. I should probably do an introductory video on YouTube to let everyone know what has happened so far. I'm excited to see what happens next. Let us see what my dark muses whisper in my ear during this next session... >: ) Samwise7http://www.blogger.com/profile/14296829227652295385noreply@blogger.com3
